I am considering some of the things from the last post, unfortunately time and functional gray matter are scant.

So noting the lack of wit of my own, today's offering for your discussion:

"The penalty for success is to be bored by the people who used to snub you." Nancy Astor

and

"In real life, unlike in Shakespeare, the sweetness of the rose depends upon the name it bears. Things are not only what they are. They are, in very important respects, what they seem to be." Hubert H. Humphrey

So how, if at all do these quotes apply to the real world and to writing?

oops. edited to fix quote...

I must not post when too tired to type.

So I mentioned a few posts back that there were some characters I'd love to meet. So who are your favorite and or least favorite characters? Anyone you just love to hate? Anyone who tempts you to change your legal name to theirs?

And of course, any questions you want to ask?

Anyone who has questions to ask, now is the time. Be it about the Winter Workout, or about anything else publishing, Onyxhawke or my tastes... type now or forever miss your keys.

I also have a question:

How did you hear about me?

Ok readers.

What place does FVD, aka Flowery Victorian Description have in modern SF/F writing?

Note!
I use Victorian to mean the way description was done at that time, not needfully a Victorian setting to the story.
Hello,
First the software question:
I need some graphics creation software. I know nothing about this. It needs to be suitable for cover art creation, web comics and other similar things. I also need to know what platforms its available for.

As for the Open Thread...

Got a question? Know interesting LiveJournals or LJ feeds I should be reading? Got a con you want to invite me to?

Talk dammit!!

Two parts:

One;

While i know several of you from elsewhere on the Web, I'm not familiar with all of you. If you'd like please introduce yourself and tell me why you read my LJ. Real names not required.

Two:

Anyone got a question for me? Some questions might not be answered, others might not be answered in a way you'd want...
