I just looked at my profile and realized its been one year since i started this LJ. Amazingly I've even learned things in that one year. The three most important are probably that A) I'm not the most patient man in the world. B) that i have not yet seen the best thing in the slush pile . C) That i have not yet seen the worst thing in the slush pile. These last two should be noted by anyone submitting to me. I've also learned that no matter how simply i spell things out on my website, someone will be confused. One of the more interesting tidbits I've picked up on is that only a single person who's submitted to me and failed to get the basics of the submission right (subject line and reasonable cover letter) has ever made it past page five and not one has ever been picked up. Think carefully about this. If nothing else this year I've met some really interesting people, and gotten to read some fascinating journal entries.
Cheers, and thanks for the fish, laughs, thoughts, and icons,
Mike
