The only non-iPod, non-KindleZune (yes, I type what I read...) mp3 player I ever saw was an obstinate thing that wouldn't work with a friend's not-cutting-edge-computer no matter how much she tried to beat it into submission. I think she may have wound up returning it.
But it was something on sale at Best Buy, and that's all I remember.
Me, I have the apple-flavored kool-aid. Because it is GOOD. (And a large fraction of the stuff on my iTunes is pulled off of CDs, so DRM is this minor inconvenience thing to me. O:> )
